A Sierra Create Lists class has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 8, 2017 (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM) @ the RAILS Bolingbrook Service Center.
Who should attend: Fully Participating library staff
This class is designed to provide staff with a basic understanding of the Create Lists module in Sierra, which is command-based querying of the database to retrieve data. Create List review files can be created of patrons, items, bibliographic records, order, etc.
Once you complete this class, the person will receive an individual named login to Sierra with Create List permissions. If the person completing the class has an existing named login, the Create List permissions will be added to that login.
If you wish to attend, please register in L2. you must be signed in to view/register for the class.
This month's Tip of the Month reviews best practices for managing holds for library book clubs. A common problem is not allowing enough time for holds to fill if you place book club holds in advance, and then use a Not Wanted Before Date in the hold record. More tips are included in the attached document.
A Sierra Serials class has been scheduled for Friday, February 24, 2017 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) @ the Rockford Service Center.
This training is designed as an introduction to the Serials module for all libraries to enter serial
publications and manage their magazine subscriptions. It will provide participants with a basic
understanding of the capabilities of the Serials module and an overview of navigating the Serials
functionality, especially for serials with a regular publication cycle.
-Completing Sierra Essentials is a prerequisite for all other Sierra training classes. Taught via GoToTraining (web meeting software)
-Cataloging item entry (in person).
