NEWS: PrairieCat Closed for Independence Day

All PrairieCat staff will be off on Monday July 4, 2022 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

PrairieCat will not have any support coverage on this day. For standard support issues please place a Help Desk ticket and your issue will be addressed on the next working day.

RAILS is also off for this holiday so there will be no delivery services on Monday July 4.

The PrairieCat Technical Services Committee has a vacancy for one of the At Large seats. PrairieCat is seeking applicants to serve the remaining term, which expires June 30, 2023.  Winning candidate will be eligible to run for future terms.

UPDATE: Sierra and Encore Software Updates

Reminder:  Action: Informational

All – reminder that III will be implementing software updates overnight tonight (Tue. 6/21 – effective Wed. 6/22) for our Production Sierra & Encore environments. Both will be updated to V5.4.

When launching Sierra on Wednesday (6/22) new java files will be downloaded to the computer so the initial launch may take just a bit longer than usual.

NEWS: New Director Welcome Meeting - July 14

Are you a newer director at a PrairieCat library? If so, please join PrairieCat staff for a New Director Welcome meeting on Thursday, Jul 14, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM via Zoom. We'll share the core services that PrairieCat provides for our members. You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions and chat with fellow new directors.

TRAINING: New PrairieCat Help Desk

PrairieCat will be utilizing a new Help Desk platform beginning July 11. Members are encouraged to attend one of the training sessions listed below. These trainings will cover the changes the member libraries will see in submitting tickets, ticket notifications, and ticket follow-up. Please register via Zoom. These sessions will be recorded and made available on the PraireCat support site. The trainings are also listed in L2.

Thank you for voting in the FY23 PrairieCat Election for open seats on the Administrative Council, Circulation Committee, and Technical Services Committee. Thank you to the candidates who volunteered to serve! As a reminder, these are open meetings and anyone is welcome to attend when these groups meet. NEWS: Survey on PUG Day and Continuing Education Events

The PrairieCat Engagement Committee wants your feedback to help us plan a valuable event for the membership. PrairieCat Users Group (PUG) Day is a professional development and training event for member library staff. PUG Day will be offered virtually this year on Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23. There is no cost to attend. Please take a couple minutes to complete the survey! All library staff are invited to complete the survey – please share as needed. The survey will be open until June 3.

NEWS: Ecommerce Transactions and Quarterly Checks

This is a reminder about ecommerce transaction reports and recently changed procedures around ecommerce payments to members. In order to lessen the costs of issuing checks for such small amounts of money, PrairieCat will avoid issuing ecommerce checks until a minimum threshold of $15 has been reached during the fiscal year.
