A new version of the PrairieCat Circulation Users Group combined Policy and Procedure Manual has been uploaded to the PrairieCat Support Site. The Manual can be found under Documentation (you have to be logged into the site first with your L2 account to see further) Circulation, Policy & Procedure. The latest version of the Manual is dated November 2012.
The PrairieCat Sustainability Committee is asking all PrairieCat PUBLIC LIBRARY members to please send in section 9 only of your last three Illinois Public Library Annual Reports (IPLARs) by May 7. This has to do with the new membership tiers now in place for PrairieCat (Union List, Basic Online and Fully Participating) and verifying a library's eligibility for each tier based on their IPLAR data.
RAILS vehicular deliveries - Regular school deliveries will END as of Friday, May 17, 2013. If this date does not quite work with your school calendar and you need to end deliveries sooner, request deliveries after this date, or earlier or later in the fall, please contact your delivery hub manager to tweak the schedule for your district.
In response to some great suggestions at last week's CUG meeting, there are now three different possible sorts on the list of PrairieCat members under the Members menu on the new PrairieCat website. You can now choose a tab to sort by library name, Sierra (PrairieCat) code or RAILS delivery code. We hope you will find this useful as you are routing materials or identifying a library you need to contact.
Please continue to offer suggestions of how we can make the new website more useful!
Several members shared some tips and tricks they've learned using Sierra after the CUG meeting this week so we've provided them below. Please continue to share ideas like this until we're all completely comfortable with all Sierra functionality!
Did you know that you can subscribe to news feed on the new PrairieCat website, so that when new items are posted you will receive a message in your email? Click on the News menu and then choose Subscribe to Feed of News Items and select where you want to receive your news feed.
You will find user groups and meeting agendas and minutes for those groups under the Members tab. Agendas and minutes for the Delegates Assembly and the Administrative Council are under the Governance menu.
Under the Documentation tab, there this a breakdown by category which provides you with one place to see all the documents posted including manuals, technical bulletins and more.
You can link directly to the SHARE website from the menu bar.
There are a number of nice features to the new PrairieCat website and we'd like to highlight a few. Please take a gander and let us know how you like the new site!
Logins - your login is now your L2 login, and as long as your L2 account is properly affiliated with your library which is a PrairieCat library, then you will be able to see password-protected information on the website.
