This morning, the president of our Friends organization told us that they no longer want unsellable materials because it is too much work for the volunteer that processes donations. So, we are on our own to figure out how to discard of any unwanted materials. Does anyone recycle their own damaged materials? And if so, do you use normal recycling or is there a different way that you get rid of these items?

We may need to replace our disc cleaning machine soon so I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for one being used at their library. Something more basic would be preferable as we have two locations I split time at so I may not be able to run the machine every day. Maintenance on our bigger model was also challenging so if anyone has experience with a smaller model please let me know.

Not sure about all of you but this has really thrown us. Looking for recommendations for vendors. Does anyone primarily use Amazon? Worried about overloading Ingram. Also, has anyone even heard from Baker&Taylor? Are you guys cancelling all your orders? I'm not expecting to get anything more from them book wise, but I called twice and emailed and haven't heard a peep. Their voicemail boxes are full now. Crazy!!

Hello. Has anyone else encountered patrons presenting an ID with the address of the post office on it? WE have seen it twice now In Loves Park, they just list the street address of the post office and a suite number. It is apparently different than having a PO Box. But in terms of proving where taxes are paid, its the same principle, and we don't allow PO boxes as proof of living in the district. When people are staying in a hotel, or are an exchange student, etc., we find ways of issuing them at least a temporary card, until until they prove permeant address. But these patrons insist this address is also used on all of their bills, and even w2's. Anyone else encounter this and how do you handle it?

What do other libraries use for "French" spine labels? We used to order ours from Demco - but they are no longer available and I cannot find them from any other vendor.
