A Sierra Serials class has been scheduled for Friday, February 24, 2017 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) @ the Rockford Service Center.
This training is designed as an introduction to the Serials module for all libraries to enter serial publications and manage their magazine subscriptions. It will provide participants with a basic understanding of the capabilities of the Serials module and an overview of navigating the Serials functionality, especially for serials with a regular publication cycle.
In case you missed it on social media, PrairieCat celebrated its accomplishments during the "12 Days of PrairieCat." Be sure to like our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter to stay up to date on member libraries and more!
RAILS will be closed on December 23, December 26, December 30 and January 2 in observance of the Christmas and New Years holidays. PrairieCat will provide emergency phone support on some of those days since libraries are open. Here is the PrairieCat support schedule:
This month’s Tip of the Month is about the use of Location codes in Sierra. Member staff are sometimes confused by the two, three and five letter Branch/Location codes that live in the same table in Sierra. Please share this document with any staff that add or edit items and patrons so they are clear on which code is used in which type of record.
A friendly reminder that per our PrairieCat Technical Bulletin Number: 33, PrairieCat staff will load a submitted file within 48 hours of receipt, unless the file is submitted on the day before a holiday or submitted over the weekend. Files are usually processed quicker than the alotted 48 hours but due to many of PC staff currently out of the office, files are taking longer to get processed. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hestitate to contact us.
