PrairieCat Users Group Day (PUG Day) is an annual event dedicated to professional development, networking, and continuing education for member library staff.

Registration

There is no registration fee. 

Attendees must use L2 to register. 

Registration deadline is Wednesday, September 13.

When registering, please note any accommodations in the fields provided.

Lunch 

Attendees will be able to OPT IN to a catered, on-site lunch. When registering, select the Waubonsee Community College + Lunch option under the Location drop down. 

  • Menu:  Lunch will be assorted deli sandwiches with sides and dessert. 
  • Dietary Restrictions: When registering, add any dietary restrictions (vegetarian, gluten free, etc.) to the Notes field. We will work with the caterer to meet these needs. 
  • Cost: $14.00 per person 

Billing: PrairieCat will bill the library for the total lunch cost for their library staff that opted in. If a staff person is not going to attend, lunch registration must be cancelled by September 13. Invoices for those who have opted in to lunch will be sent to the libraries after the event.

This training session will focus on gathering IPLAR statistical data. To gather the data, we’ll use 4 PrairieCat-supplied reports (with tips to isolate your library’s data) and 1 Decision Center report that you will need to run for your library. The session will only cover the Sierra-specific data, not 3rd-party data such as OCLC, Overdrive, or eRead Illinois statistics. This session will be a workshop format and participants will have the opportunity to follow the steps and gather their library’s statistics.

This session will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.

Who should attend? These sessions are useful for all PrairieCat public libraries, whether you’re fully participating, basic online, or union list.

The specific IPLAR questions that will be answered are:

16.1 through 16.5 (Registered Users)

17.1 through 17.6d (Resources Owned)

18.1 through 18.10 (Resources Used)

18.16 through 18.17 (Interlibrary Loans)

PrairieCat Administrative Council Meeting

The Administrative Council is PrairieCat's board of directors and consists of 11 elected representatives from the Delegates Assembly. This governing body sets policy, receives and approves recommendations from the Ad Hoc and Standing Committees, and approves recommendations to go to the Delegates Assembly including new members, contracts, the budget and major purchases outside the budget.  Who should attend: Members of the Council and any other interested parties. This meeting is open to the public. PrairieCat Circulation Committee Meeting

  This 11 member elected standing group discusses circulation and OPAC topics. It is empowered to make decisions on procedure and some policy decisions, and to make recommendations to Administrative Council for higher level policy decisions.
