News: Request for Information - PrairieCat Integrated Library System

Submitted by Elizabeth Smith on

PrairieCat is a multi-type library consortium in northern Illinois and is primarily funded by member library contributions. PrairieCat functions as a resource-sharing consortium underpinned by a common ILS. PrairieCat’s members are 136 independent public libraries, school districts, and academic libraries across 22 counties in northern and north-central Illinois.

PrairieCat is evaluating integrated library system (ILS) software to ensure our organization is providing the best suite of staff-facing library automation software to support the needs of our consortium of libraries and their patrons. There are many requirements to consider when assessing both our current ILS as well as a potential new one. The request for information is intended to help collect useful information about these different areas. This will allow PrairieCat and its stakeholders to identify the best product for our current and future needs.

For a full overview and instructions for responding, please review the attached document. Deadline for submission is September 30, 2026.
