You won’t want to miss the upcoming Resource Sharing Summit on Friday, April 11, 2025 at the DeKalb Public Library at 10 am. This is an in person only event. Seating is limited so if you plan to attend, please register. Details and registration in L2.

This year’s topic is on Marketing Your Library: Strategies for Success and Accessibility. The session will be facilitated by Amanda Standerfer from Standerfer Consulting | Fast Forward Libraries. This interactive session will feature guest speakers, group discussions, and insights into what marketing strategies are driving success—and what challenges have been encountered along the way. Together, we’ll share tips on how to better promote library services and resources to your community. We’ll also address the importance of navigating accessibility concerns when creating both print and digital materials.

Guest speakers include Renee Grassi - author, trainer, librarian, administrator, educator, and accessibility consultant Renee Grassi is an advocate for equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in libraries, schools, and communities.

Renee will present on Libraries for All: Inclusive and Accessible Communication Strategies For People with Disabilities – Whether large or small, rural or urban, libraries serve people of all abilities. In fact, libraries act as vital lifelines for people with disabilities providing access to information, connection, reading, learning, job experience, recreation, technology, and more. Without inclusive marketing strategies, however, the services offered at your library may be unknown and unused by the disability community and their support networks. In this workshop, learn about ways to improve the accessibility of your print and online communication deliverables to reach and include people with disabilities. In addition, learn how building trusting relationships with people and organizations can increase awareness of your library's services and offer opportunities for participation from all members of your community.
