PrairieCat Resource Sharing Summit:  Patron Behavior Policy and Best Practices

The summit will be facilitated by Amanda Standerfer, Fast Forward Libraries Consultant. Guest speakers include Attorney Anne M. Skrodzki, Partner at Klein, Thorpe & Jenkins and Jessica Walker, QMHP, Staff Educator at Rosecrance Behavioral Health. Don’t miss this opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from across the state.

Join your colleagues from PrairieCat to learn more about building a patron behavior policy that supports your library and your patrons. Difficult patron interactions can sometimes impact customer service, but having a solid policy and staff training will provide a strong foundation to responding appropriately in these situations. Hear from Attorney Anne M. Skrodzki, Partner at Klein, Thorpe & Jenkins, about the legal considerations when crafting your library’s patron behavior policy. Next, a panel of librarians will share their patron behavior policies and their experiences with implementing their policies. A training session from Rosecrance Behavioral Health will close out the day.

Coffee and lunch will be provided. Please list any dietary restrictions when registering. Meeting is in the Yusunas Meeting Room. Registration will close on April 20, 2026.
