ALERT: Decision Center upgrade January 14, 2021

ACTION: Alert

Update on 1/14/2021

Our Decision Center upgrade was successful! No errors occurred during the process

Upgrade notes:

Features in Decision Center 1.2 ServicePack 10

  • Improved performance for the Popular Titles report
  • Two new reports added - Shelving Allocation by Collection and Shelving Allocation by Location. These reports aid with item distribution and identify pooling and drought situations for selected collections and locations.
  • A new Demand filter on the Pooling Remedy report's Initial Filters screen will let users configure the demand percentage to be considered pooling. Previously, this hold-to-item ratio had a hard-coded value of 1:1.5.
  • A new Demand filter on the Drought Remedy report's Initial Filters screen will let users configure the demand percentage to be considered drought. Previously, this hold-to-item ratio had a hard-coded value of 1:1.5.
  • When the Publish Date facet is applied in Encore, that search is now captured as part of the Publish Date facet in the Facet and Tag Trends report.
  • The Within (months) element of the Low Circulation Weeding report Limits filter is now a drop-down list of numbers ranging from one to the number of months back to the oldest transaction available. Having to select from a populated list prevents the user from entering a value that is greater than the age of circulation data available.

Fixed (2) Known Issues in Decision Center 1.2. SP10

The "Publish Date" row in the DC "Facet and Tag Trends" report about searches in Encore just shows 0

The "Publish Date" row in the DC "Facet and Tag Trends" report about searches in Encore just shows 0 even when there have been searches.

Low Circulation Weeding report returns results outside of report's circulation totals parameter

The Low Circulation Weeding report returns results outside of report's circulation totals parameter when some item locations from Collection table are not selected and a higher number of “Limits circs month” is entered.

NEW REPORTS: Configuration for new Shelving Allocation reports

Before running the new Shelving Allocation by Collection and Shelving Allocation by Location reports, you must configure the shelving space allocated for a selected collection and branch location. To do this, go to the Admin Tools screen, click on Code Categories and then and click on the new tab named Shelving Allocation.

  • The configuration contains drop downs for Collection and Branch
  • The Collection drop-down contains all collections configured for the library
  • The Branch drop-down contains all branch locations configured for the library
  • Library enters the width allocation. Total item capacity calculated using the width allocation and average width per copy. Note that the average width per copy field is configured on the Collection tab and that changes made to the collection via the Collection tab are actually saved in Sierra and sent to DC during the nightly conversation. This means that users will not immediately see their Collection changes to the Average Width Per Copy field immediately reflected on the Shelving Allocation tab.
