NEWS: PrairieCat Covid-19 Updates

ACTION: Informational/Immediate

Due to an attempt to balance the needs of consortium member libraries and system limitations, the following decisions have been made and are effective March 17, 2020:


  • Holds requests will be suspended from close of business March 16-March 31
  • Pending hold requests made before March 17 will be addressed after March 31

Library Closures

  • Report library closures or limited services by contacting:  
  • If you already contacted PrairieCat about closures or limited services, then please update existing ticket if you are adjusting your services.

Due Dates: PrairieCat is extending due dates for items with due dates of 03/13/2020 through 03/31/2020 until April 7, 2020. If you are closed but are going to keep circulating resources, the due date will automatically be in 2021. Each evening, PrairieCat will then manually adjust due dates to April 7, 2020.

Patron Expiration Dates: PrairieCat is extending patron expiration dates until April 30, 2020 for patrons whose cards would have expired in March 2020.

• Delivery is suspended until at least 03/31. Any questions or concerns around delivery should be directed to Send your message from the email address used for your Library Learning (L2) account, so the ticketing system will recognize your library and route your message to the correct RAILS service center.
• After you submit a ticket, you'll receive email confirmation and status updates from RAILS delivery services staff. You can also check on your ticket's status by logging into the ticketing support system at with your L2 account's email address and password.
