TRAINING: Tip of the Month, September 2018 - Viewing Fines Paid

This month's Tip of the Month reviews how to use the Fines Paid function in Sierra. You can generate a list of all fines paid, waived, forgiven, etc. at your library for a specific time period. Review the attached document for more details!

Patron Code 4 - New values added

The following values have been added to the Patron Code 4 dropdown listing. These new codes will display the next time you log into Sierra.

The Patron Code 4 is an optional fixed field used to track geography or home library for non-PC reciprocal borrowers.

You can download a listing of the PCode 4 values (in Excel and PDF - by Code and by Label) by logging into the Support Site and navigating to Resources>Circulation> and then looking in the Code Lists section on the page.

TRAINING: Tip of the Month - August 2018 - Changing Font and Color Preferences in Sierra

This month's Tip of the Month explains options for changing the font or font size, and/or the color for selected fields in Sierra. The changes are saved on your workstation and can be changed back to the defaults easily.  Check out your options!

Congratulations to Marseilles Public Library On Their PrairieCat Go Live Monday!

Congratulations to the Marseilles Public Library who "went live" for circulation on Monday using Sierra!

Marseilles PL (MABB-3) has completed the process of upgrading their collection, which was loaded into Prairiecat on August 23, 2017. Marseilles marks the 11th public library / school district in LaSalle County that circulates their collection using Sierra/PrairieCat.

Congratulations to the city of Marseilles and best of luck to Library Director Jan Ambrose and the library staff!!

eCommerce report for July 2018 available

The July 2018 ecommerce transaction report has been posted to the Support website.

Sharon, the PrairieCat accountant, has balanced the PrairieCat report to the report from the credit card vendor.

PrairieCat Resource Sharing Summit - Packet

The PrairieCat Resource Sharing Summit on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at DeKalb Public Library. Join us for a morning of collaborative problem-solving as we discuss ongoing resource sharing issues. These are issues that have frequently been raised by the membership. The two main issues for discussion are: ILL Policy -  exempt items and borrowing/lending item types not owned by your library AND patron-initiated holds by non-PrairieCat reciprocal borrowers. The Summit will be facilitated by outside consultant Amanda E. Standerfer. We hope to see you there!

The packet and supporting documents are attached. Register in L2.  Meeting is in the Yusunas Meeting Room (in the basement). Attendees can enter through the main doors starting 8:30 am. Please arrive by 8:45 am to sign-in.

This is an exhibit area where you can share what’s going on at your library. This could be a poster with information, hard copies of program or promotional materials, or any other setup that works for you. Past examples include Career Online High School and Battle of the Books. You do not need to stand by and present – this is a passive exhibit area.
