NEWS: End of School Year Approaching

ACTION:  Informational & Action Required

It's that time of year again, and Paging Lists for school member libraries will be turned off as of Monday, April 8, 2019.  Beginning on that date, school library materials will not be holdable until School Paging Lists resume in the fall. Schools will still be able to request materials to fulfill their students’ needs to the end of the school year.

To make this a smooth transition, here are some to-do lists!

FOR SCHOOL LIBRARIES:

NEWS: PrairieCat Training Survey

We value the input of our PrairieCat Members!

Please share your thoughts about your PrairieCat training experience with us. Your answers will allow us to better meet your expectations and improve PrairieCat training for member libraries.

We thank you for devoting 5-10 minutes of your time to our survey.

TRAINING: Did You Know, February 2019 - Reinstating Fines

This month's Did You Know explains how you can reinstate a fine if it was paid or waived accidentally. This is optional functionality in Sierra.  It is also tied to a specific permission, so your library can determine which login or logins have permission to reinstate fines. If you need to add this permission to a login, please open a Help Desk ticket.

TRAINING: Did You Know, December 2018 - Limiting Searches to Your Library or Area Libraries

This month's Did You Know explains how you can limit search results in Sierra or Encore using a simple b: or c: code added to your keyword search terms.  Multi-site libraries can limit to all the buildings in their agencies, or libraries can search their area where geographic scopes are available. Check it out!

Patron Code 4 - New values added

The following values have been added to the Patron Code 4 dropdown listing. These new codes will display the next time you log into Sierra.

The Patron Code 4 is an optional fixed field used to track geography or home library for non-PC reciprocal borrowers.
