TRAINING: Tip of the Month, October 2017 - Modify Groups of Records

ACTION:  Informational

This month's Tip of the Month explains how cataloging staff can use Modify Group to edit fixed or variable length fields in a group of records such as items, orders or holding records.  The records all must be linked to a certain bibliographic record, and you must edit the same type of record in one batch, but this can be a time-saver for staff. Our longer-than-usual Tip of the Month document also has a specific real-life example of using this functionality to mark a whole group of magazine item records for discard easily, rather than opening each item record individually and changing the ICode2 and Status fields.  Don't forget this feature when you are discarding this year's group of magazine issues!
